American Girl has a new contest! A contest – not sweepstakes. It’s all about creating an place for girls that would make the world a better place.

The contest ends January 4th, 2016, and the winners will be contacted on or around February 8th.

First, imagine a place for girls that would make the world a better place.

Then, tell American Girl about the place and why it would make the world better.

Then you draw a picture, build a model, make a painting, or create artwork of your imaginary place. (This is right up my alley!)

Finally, you send (through the mail) your entry to American Girl.

There are 3 age groups: 8-10, 11- 13, and 14- 17. There is a grand prize for each category. Look at all those grand prizes! That’s ridiculously cool. :) All the other first prize winners (10 for each category) will receive a Truly Me doll of their choice. All these prizes add up to over $4,000. :P

The winners will be chosen based on their originality, artistic merit :) and effective use of the theme.

I plan to enter, but I’m going to spend some time thinking of my imaginary place.
