About Dara
Dara started Small Dolls in a Big World with her sister Dacey back in 2014 and has been photographing her dolls ever since. Because of her American Girl collection that started when she received her first doll in 2009, she’s written stories, sewn doll clothes, and made coloring pages, all here on the blog. Now that Dara’s older, she’s not as active, but she still loves her dolls just the same. If you want to see Dara’s latest work, check out her instagram (@americangirldollartist) for a collection of favorite photos and inspired artwork.
About Dacey
Dacey has been collecting dolls since she received her first American Girl doll in 2009, and been photographing and writing stories since the blog first started in 2014. Over the years, she has learned how to sculpt miniature and perfectly doll-sized food, even tried her hand at owning a small business with Dara on Etsy. Currently, Dacey is enrolled in college for graphic design, but she still enjoys photography and hopes to bring the same happiness to others as she discovered scrolling through doll blogs back then. Dacey is more active on her Instagram account (@twin.suns.ag) which she occasionally updates to share the smaller photoshoots she captures in her free time.

my doll isn’t a real A.G.D but she looks a lot like one.
What brand is she? I am trying to find some non AG brands that look like AG dolls.

Is the Doll a our generation or my life?
Cool app
Hi! I know I’ve asked you this before but I can’t find it anywhere on your blog so I’m gonna ask again :). How did you get the ads on your blog? Thanks!!
Dolldiys~ She probably signed up for the thing where you can get money when people click on your ads…on Blogger it is called Adsense but idk what it’s called on WordPress..:)
~Bella~
http://dollcrossing.blogspot.com/
I got an Adsense plugin.
What is Adsence? Also, you blog on WordPress! Is it .com or .org?
Adsense is a service provided by Google that allows you to have ads on your website. Yes, my blog is run on WordPress, but it is self-hosted, which means it’s hosted on a server other then WordPress. So I used .org. 😄
Cool. I have been wishing to switch WordPress.org but I just can’t, so for now, WordPress.com. Also, I am a blogger. ;)
Hello, AmericanGirlDollArtist!
You may know this already, but on my blog, Journal of Two Dolls, I have been conducting a series of polls to design an imaginary GotY doll. She is almost complete, and I was wondering if you would be willing to illustrate the finished product. (Your drawings are AMAZING!) If you would like to do this, I’ll send you all the details (hair color, facemold, pet, favorite color, ect.) Then, when the picture was finished, we could post a photo of it on my blog. I’d give you all the credit, of course! ;)
No pressure whatsoever. If you don’t want to do this, it’s totally fine. Just thought I’d throw it out there! :)
~Lizzy
I’m sorry, but I don’t take doll drawing requests through my blog anymore. You can, however, request a custom doll drawing (colored in Photoshop) through my Etsy shop. :)
The polls sound really cool! I’ll be sure to vote. :)
Thanks for getting back to me! I’ll check out your shop and see if it’s something I’d like to do. :)
~Lizzy
Okay! Thank you!
I don’t have any samples of my work done in Photoshop yet though. ;)
Hey! Do you have a button?
No, I don’t, but you can use the picture of my dolls if you’d like. :)
Cool! You should make that picture into a button! If you want to try, http://www.picmonkey.com/
~Anika~
Right now I’m working on redrawing my dolls because I just added Lea to my doll family. When I’m finished, I might turn it into a button. Thanks for the suggestion! :)
Okay! Maybe when you get the new picture done. 😀
Are you an adult? :| (because you have a facebook account)
My mom runs the Facebook account. :)
Do you ever think that people are too old for american girl dolls?
I do not. 😊 I think American Girl dolls are for any age you want to play with them at. To me, they are friends and have opened many opportunities for me. If I would have stopped playing with them several years ago, when I was at the top of the target age range, my life would not be the same. ❤️ They are a huge part of my life and I won’t stop playing with them even if someone tells me I’m too old. If dolls are something you love, you should embrace it. 🤗 So no, people can never be too old for dolls. 😊
I believe that to. I have a kind of doll that a lot of kids and adults cherish. :)
Can I email you? I don’t use social media. :)
If you have a question or anything, you can definitely send me an email. 😄
Thanksl
