Jamie threw herself onto the bed and cried.
She couldn’t believe AG would do such a thing, and there was nothing she could do to stop it. Rubbing her eyes, Jamie felt like screaming, but she realized she felt more hurt than angry. What other doll had been changed just a bit, and gone from ordinary to superstar special by American Girl themselves?
None, she realized, sitting up. I’m all alone in this. No one could understand. I am going to stay here and sulk until the end of my days. She crossed her arms dramatically and flipped her curls out of her face.
In the living room, Tay was sitting all by herself, feeling terrible about what she had just done.
The remote was left on the couch, but Tay didn’t care. She flashed back to a couple of moments before: Jamie’s devastated face, Lea’s disappointment…
She had to do something about it.. but apologizing? If there was one thing Tay hated doing, it was saying she was wrong. Consciencely saying she had made a mistake. Yet that was the whole point. She sighed, wishing she could start the whole day over.
Tay suddenly remembered what it felt like to be all alone. She remembered living on the road. No friends, no pets, no home. Tay had pretended to be strong all those years, but she was only fooling herself. Inside she had been broken, wanting to be something more than just a girl living by herself. Maybe that’s what Jamie needs, thought Tay. She needs to know she is more. Because she’s more than just a doll who’s been replaced; She’s our sister.
So Tay got up, and left the living room.
Jamie was still crying when she heard Tay walk up. “I don’t want to talk to anyone,” She hollered, angry at how her voice cracked as she spoke.
Tay just walked up to the daybed and stood silently.
“What do you want?” Jamie asked, scowling, “I said I didn’t want to talk to anyone.”
“I know,” Tay said bluntly. “I just want to say…”
Jamie paused, listening.
Tay forced out two words. “I’m sorry.” She grimaced, imagining the words to sting as she said them. Opening her eyes, she found out they didn’t. In fact, they did just the opposite: Jamie’s face began to soften.
“I sorry for laughing at you. It wasn’t very nice of me,” Tay began, ” And I should know more than anyone, because I do know what it’s like to feel alone.” Tay hoped her words weren’t too confusing; she had never been good at collecting her thoughts. “I just wanted you do know that you are more than a doll who’s been replaced. You’re our sister. And even if AG doesn’t like you anymore, or whatever, you will still have us and we will love you.”
As soon as the words came out of her mouth, Tay almost rolled her eyes. How had she made it so mushy-sounding?
Jamie didn’t seem to notice, because happy tears welled up her eyes. “Thanks Tay,” she said.
“You’re, um, welcome.” Tay said. She coughed, eyeing the exit. Maybe if I ran fast enough she wouldn’t notice I was gone.. Tay thought for a second. Should she invite Jamie out to ice cream? Naw, too classic.
“Well.. I..” Tay didn’t know what else to say. “Will you forgive me?” When Jamie didn’t say anything, Tay added, “Please?”
Jamie smiled, “Of course.” Then she wrapped Tay up in a hug. Tay just smiled a little, and patted Jamie on the back.
“Tay?” Jamie asked, heading out to the living room.
“Yeah?” Tay asked.
Jamie smirked. “I still get the remote.” She bolted out to the living room.
Tay rolled her eyes. Classic Jamie.
THE END
Do you have #46? What does she think of Gabriela?
– American Girl Doll Artist
P.S. Jamie’s number is #46, and that backwards is #64, which is Tay’s number. How cool is that? XD
I was excited to see this post in my inbox! I’m glad that Tay apologized, and that Jamie seems a little better. I’m disappointed that American Girl just recycled TM 46, but I am wondering if they did that because they needed all their focus on Felicity and the new dolls, Tenney and Logan?
~Gracie
Aw, this is so good! I love how Tay overcame her hatred of apologizing to help her sister feel better. And I love how the two most different dolls in the world bonded in a not so great moment. Love this!
-Izzy💜-
Thanks Izzy! <3 :)
I don’t have #46, but my dolls do think that Gabriela should have been more unique.
“I still get the remote.”
LOL! XD

Are you planning on doing another photostory series like ‘The Guiding Compass’? You did a really good job on that!
It’s possible. Thank you! The Guiding Compass really wore me out. XD It was a lot of photostories in a row. ;) But I’ll definitely consider it! :D
Yeah, I know how hard it is to take a ton of pictures for a photostory and it is a LOT of work.
It is! XD
We were both so happy to see the notification for this post! We are happy that Tay said she was sorry, and that Jamie is feeling better. We are also disappointed that AG just reused TM #46, but are assuming that they did not have enough time to think of a whole collection because they are probably focusing more on Felicity, Tenney, and Logan.
❤️,
Tori, Bella, and the dolls

That’s not counting Nanea or Z, either! Still it’s pretty disappointing, though. It’s like they put NO EFFORT into the GOTY line.
I don’t mean to be rude or anything, but in 2014 when Isabelle came out I noticed she was super similar to Marisol, and my sister saw that Isabelle looked just like her doll who was Truly Me #27, so almost all truly me dolls go through that stage #23 and Saige, #39 and McKenna, but I just wish Gabby had a new hobby, instead of dance, like engineering, or sports.
I agree. Lea seems to be the only unique one.
They. Were. So. Lazy. On. Gabby. Sure, her story is great, but her collection? Don’t even get me started.

Your photostories are some of my very very favorites! And I LOVED this one! Tay and Jamie’s personalities are so awesome. And LOL! That ending! XD “I still get the remote.” XD XD XD
I love your photostories so much! And the pictures are just absolutely breathtaking. You have to seriously stop being so awesome, or I will die of an awesomeness overload.
•Madison•
You’re so sweet Madison! Thank you. <3 :D
*Gasp* Oh no! Please do not die!! If you need to lower the awesomeness, you can go read my Mysterious Illness Series. The pictures were terrible. XD
Thank you for your sweet comment! <3
Aw, thanks! You’re welcome! :D
LOLOL! 😄 I just read through that series, and I still thought it was awesome! XD I could totally relate to what Madison went through – both because I had a really bad gluten sensitivity and my name is Madison. XD
You’re welcome! Thank YOU for your sweet reply! :D
LOL! Thank you! That’s great! :D <3 You're welcome. :)
I love this! The pictures are so cute and the story is amazing!
Aw, thanks Anna! <3 :)
Are you planning on adding any more dolls to the Small Dolls in a Big World family?
It’s possible, but currently I don’t have any plans on getting a new doll. ;)
AMAZING story. I have to ask you, how do you get so much light in your dollhouse? It looks stellar.
Thank you! <3 This story is set in our bedroom, not the actual 3 story dollhouse. The dolls' house in our room has a window right above it, so that's the main source of light. I also use a reflector. :) Thank you!
Good to know! :)
“I still get the remote” LOLZ! Great job AGDA! My cousin is getting Gabreila for her birthday, and I might too! But, I might wanna go get her at the store, that will be the first time I went to actually get her, not on Christmas. I think Gabby is cute, but maybe she can do like, coding instead? AHA! My Gabby will like computers, like me!
LOL, thank you! <3 Getting her at the store is really fun - you can pick out which one you want. :D Yeah! That's a great idea! :)
Hi Americangirldollartsist! Great photo story, can’t wait for the next part! I just wanted to let you know that I got your package in the mail today, and I’m so excited to use it’s contents! Thank you so much for hosting the giveaway,
-Sam
Thanks Samanthadolls! Ooh, that’s great! I’m glad. :) You’re welcome! <3
The little note is currently on the memo board of the bouquet bed set, it’s perfect for dolls! <3
Awww! That’s cute! :D
