To celebrate Valentine’s Day, American Girl has done a live stream on their Facebook to reveal some new products!
They featured all 5 new dolls – Nanea, Felicity, Tenney, Logan, and Z Yang! :D
The host of the live stream revealed several details and products for the new characters.
You can see Z’s book and little film accessories in front of her.
Gabriela will have a loft bed, a fuzzy chair and ottoman, a new outfit with a high-low skirt, and one or two other accessory sets.

In a future release, AG will also release a makeup bag and headphones for girls!
AG also talked about Nanea Mitchell, their soon-to-be Beforever doll growing up in Hawaii during WW II.

American Girl confirmed, Tenney and Logan are NOT girlfriend and boyfriend. They also shared that Z will have a film/stopmotion done through Amazon.

I have mixed feelings about all of this… I love the new dolls (especially Z and Tenney), and I’m thrilled that AG has FINALLY designed a new facemold! But I also wish that the company would stay the same forever. It’s a silly wish, but I like all the old, classic AG stuff best. Oh, well. Change comes upon everything whether we like it or not. ;)

I feel you, Lizzy. I’m still not thrilled about Nanea sharing an era with Molly. And her Wellie Wishers face. Oh well.
Yeah… my first thought about Nanea’s facemold was that it looked like an OG doll’s. Give it enough time and it’ll probably grow on me, though. ;)

So if Nanea is the beforever WWII doll, Molly fans have no hope of her being re-released.
On the other hand, she is very pretty and seeing the events of Pearl Harbor from a Hawaiian native point of view would be interesting. I just wonder how authentic the story will be.

Never say never. The other problem is that there is a possibility that Nanea will be archived in the next two years if she doesn’t have enough in her collection to keep her at bay and Molly will replace her.
I don’t think she has a WellieWisher face, but I do wish they’d re-release Molly…

I am so excited! Gabriela’s loft bed looks super cool. :) I love both Nanea and Z, but Nanea’s face mold looks a little strange. :/ I’ll have to see it in person before deciding ^-^
We have a lot of mixed feelings, but we do love the new dolls, mostly Z and Tenney, and are excited about the new face mold. We wish the company was still the way it used to be though. The classic stuff from AG is the best! Ugh! We must have to deal though.

Have you heard the rumour that Nanea’s eyes will be permanently attached and not sleep eyes? Could we have some more info on that?
Yes, I have heard that rumor, but we really don’t know anything. Somebody asked AG about it and they said they didn’t have anything to share at this time. I will be sure to tell you if I hear something. :D I hope her eyes will be sleep eyes.

I’m almost positive that rumor isn’t true, because in AG’s #Chooseyourcharacter stop motion she was blinking.
Pretty as she is, Nanea looks more like an 18″ Wellie Wisher or other brand doll than a regular 18′ AG doll, but I’m happy for those who like the changes.
The loft bed reminds me a lot of McKenna’s loft bed.
You know who’s loft bed that REALLY is? A teenage McKenna’s, or so it looks…
So far Gabriela is just one bundle of recycled-ness. *Sigh.* And for the only DOC goty! 😑
Perhaps a few things seem recycled. However, we can look at the uniqueness. First, she’s from Philly (I’m interested to read her story to see how much they got right [or wrong]). She’s the first drummer. She’s the first to participate in spoken word (I think).

Gabi does have a lot of recycled things…marisol trunk, mckenna bed, isabelle barre, we have to remember many kids were not old enough for AG or were not even born when these things were out. I never got the loft bed, trunk , or dance stuff from Isabelle so Im happy to see these things out again. Mixed feelings on Nanea.
