Tenney Grant’s character journal was just leaked today – along with a couple of new clues that will tell us more about American Girl’s future contemporary character.
This is the cover of the 160 page book. This confirms our suspicions that Tenney is a big music fan and plays the guitar.
Also leaked was a sample page of the book.

Now we know Tenney also plays the banjo. She also loves singing, song-writing, and cooking.
It looks like Tenney Grant will have brown hair with blonde highlights and brown eyes.
Instagram users have made collages and observed that Tenney Grant is a lot like Taylor Swift. The co-author of a Taylor Swift autobiography is the author of the Tenny books. The two both have similar, even the same hair part. They both play guitar, and love to sing. Also, an outfit leaked on eBay is extremely similar to one Taylor Swift has worn on stage. Coincidence? We don’t know for sure.
Her profile also states that she owns a golden retriever named Waylon. This could be the dog that was leaked on Ebay several months ago:

Here’s Jaya Mitra’s profile, Tenney’s best friend. I like how she loves art. :D However, I could see many people frustrated with the fact she is “only the friend.” But, rumors have stated that the next (and possibly last) GOTY will be a doll of color. So we will just have to see how it plays out.
Other details from the listing are that the target age range is above the normal 9 to 12 years. For this book, it’s 10 – 14, girls in 5 -9th grade. It also shares that the book is in the category of social themes/friendship. It’s set to be released January 31st, 2017.

I just found a cool mistake in the Ag magazine ( the one with girls legs in the new penguin pj’s holding a doll in the same pj’s) Look on samantha’s page and you will see “her” book’s the pictures of the books are actually Rebecca’s books! So cool!

We are super excited to see what AG comes out with!!!! Personally, we are not completely loving it, but we are curious to see what happens. However, we are anxious for Felicity to be released, again, and are hoping for a great collection.

I’m waiting for a medium skin tone blonde w blue Hazel eyes. We are all mixed nationalities for the majority of Americans so to say white means very little. There’s a lot of nationalities that hv white skin, pls remember that. It hurts bc my children are blonde w blue eyes which are changing to Hazel. My girl has curly hair and my boy straight. Both have a huge part of Native American in them, Slovakian & Swedish they are more of the 1st 2 than anything. To think that bc they’re white skinned people would jump to conclusions. I hv a friend whose 1/2 “white” 1/2 Mexican and is married to a dark skinned African. He’s Fair skinned but w dark curly hair & he’s the most precious boy I’ve met. Pls don’t judge by skin color. Let’s come together & teach our children it’s about bettering yourself & helping others. Love w your soul not your eyes.
I’m not saying being white and blond is bad. I’m just saying, we’ve already had a LOT of dolls like that, and some dolls of a wider range of ethnicities would be appreciated. That’s why I’m hoping they make a doll of Tenny’s best friend, Jada. And I’m definitely not racist; in fact, I’m saying we need a wider range of races in our dolls, because what kid doesn’t want a doll that looks like them? It’s just hard when AG continually makes light skinned dolls, and I would really appreciate a new doll with dark skin.
From a person who lives in Tennessee, if they were going to do a country music star, white was pretty much the only accurate option. Yes, they could’ve varied the hair and eye color, but I think, at least for Tennessee girls, the combination they chose is very relatable. I think she will be very pretty. And maybe eventually they will also release a Jaya doll! She would also be beautiful, but not very believable as a country music star, so i’m glad that she is an artist.
Anyway, all people are created by God and he loves everyone equally, no matter what they look like or what their talents are. He gives certain people specific talents for a reason, so that each person has a way to share the Good News in their own way.

Well, other rumors and some evidence has popped up that Tenney Grant WILL NOT be the new GOTY. That title will go to a girl named Gabriela McBride, a revamped version of Truly Me #46 (Jamie). I think she’ll be the first doll in a new line by AG. We don’t know the name of it yet though. ;)
I hope Tenney is Goty. She seems pretty cool so far. Modern girl right? I think they should just stick with truly me. It’s just so confusing 😋 Thank you!

I was just sitting here looking at this post and your other post: “GOTY 2017 tenney grant leaks and clues” And i was thinking. you know that picture of the lady doing the girl’s hair and it said: “Day 2!” and I realized that, that girl looks a lot like Tenney’s friend Jaya. I think it’s possible they might be making a Jaya Doll, and that is her outfit. I hope they do!

I think I’m gonna read the books because it’s appropriate for my age because I’m 14 and I’m in 9th grade and I might get tenney and might get some of her outfits
I am just getting interested and excited about Tenny since she will be coming out soon. I might get her if my mom says it’s okay. I REALLY, REALLY liked that the GOTY was African American and that she has a speech disability but not so happy that they put no originality into the doll since she is a TM. I definatly agree though that we need more diverse dolls! I make sure my collection is diverse. I have African American dolls, Asian dolls, blonde, brunette, black hair, medium skin, light skin, but AG needs to do a better job. I wish they were coming out with Tenny’s BFF instead of a boy doll I mean the company is American Girl…right?
