I am just getting interested and excited about Tenny since she will be coming out soon. I might get her if my mom says it’s okay. I REALLY, REALLY liked that the GOTY was African American and that she has a speech disability but not so happy that they put no originality into the doll since she is a TM. I definatly agree though that we need more diverse dolls! I make sure my collection is diverse. I have African American dolls, Asian dolls, blonde, brunette, black hair, medium skin, light skin, but AG needs to do a better job. I wish they were coming out with Tenny’s BFF instead of a boy doll I mean the company is American Girl…right?

I think I’m gonna read the books because it’s appropriate for my age because I’m 14 and I’m in 9th grade and I might get tenney and might get some of her outfits

I'm still getting confused with all this GOTY and contemporary theories that are flying around. I’m not saying being white and blond is bad. I’m just saying, we’ve already had a LOT of dolls like that, and some dolls of a wider range of ethnicities would be appreciated. That’s why I’m hoping they make a doll of Tenny’s best friend, Jada. And I’m definitely not racist; in fact, I’m saying we need a wider range of races in our dolls, because what kid doesn’t want a doll that looks like them? It’s just hard when AG continually makes light skinned dolls, and I would really appreciate a new doll with dark skin.
