The Guiding Compass – Part 13

Lea awoke with a scream. A brown, fuzzy creature was sitting on her stomach, its head cocked, watching her. She realized it was a sloth. Lea blushed, embarrassed by her outburst, though probably no one had heard. The sloth just stared at her. She sat up, and wondering if the sloth would run off because of the sudden movement. It didn’t. It just slid down her stomach and onto her lap, continuing to stare at her. “Where did you come {Read More}

Review: Lea’s Accessories

Aaaand I’m back! I have a very good excuse this time: we were moving. 🙂 Today I’ll be reviewing Lea’s accessories. 🙂 The set costs $32 on the American Girl website but I bought it along in her exclusive collection. It includes a camera with a removable strap, braided headband, a wish bracelet, 4 photos, a passport, and sea turtle book. First, the camera. The camera is entirely made of plastic, but it is very detailed and sturdy. There are different {Read More}

The Guiding Compass – Part 12

The rocks crunched underneath her feet as Lea trudged down the gravel road. She had been walking for 7 hours, and she had only gone a little over 2 miles. Sweat was dripped down her back. Though it was a spring day, it was cloudy and humid, and her Jedi cape wasn’t helping. Throwing back her hood, Lea shook her head, letting the cooler air flow around her neck. It made her feel better, but her stomach was still growling in {Read More}

The Guiding Compass – Part 7

When they arrived back home, Lea made sure the front door was locked and then went straight to her room. She realized that the paper turtle on the wall had fallen down. Making a mental note to herself to ask the others for some more tape, she opened her shopping bag and looked inside. She laid the clothing she had purchased out on the bed and studied it. Then pulling her messenger bag up and over her head, she took {Read More}

The Guiding Compass – Part 3

Lea looked up and nodded, “That’d be great, thanks.” “Okay, just follow me!” Grace exclaimed. Grace left the room with Lea at her heels and entered the spare room, which they had prepared for Lea with a trundle bed and a desk. “Here we are!” Grace exclaimed, spreading her arms out wide. “Your room!” Lea looked around. The walls were a little drab, but her eyes lit up when she spotted a paper sea turtle hung up on the wall {Read More}

The Guiding Compass – Part 2

The door opened slightly, and a timid-looking girl appeared in the doorway. Her dirty blonde curls matched her tan complexion and reached the waist of her brightly colored tribal print dress. With one of her hands she clutched the embroidered strap of her burlap messenger bag and in the other she held a camera. Its neon pink strap dangled from it, unused. She had set down beside her an American Girl shopping bag. It was obvious it was filled with {Read More}

Lea To the Rescue – Movie Trailer

American Girl has released the movie trailer to Lea’s new movie, Lea to the Rescue! It was rumored to be “Lea Leads the Way,” but it’s not. If you say it out loud, it does sound strange on your tongue. I’m glad they switched it. 🙂 I am looking forward to watching it sometime. 🙂 The actor who plays Lea looks almost too young, compared to Olivia Rodrigo, who looked a little old for her part as Grace, in Grace {Read More}

Pippa – A Photostory

Spring jumped up and down. “Guys! The plane’s here! Pippa should be here any moment!” She pointed out the airport lounge’s giant window. A passenger jet had just flown in a few seconds ago. Grace looked out the window and glanced at the plane worriedly. She’d never greeted a new sister before, since she was the youngest, and was wondering if Pippa would like her. Bethany sat on the window seat and leaned on the glass pane.  “I heard Pippa {Read More}
