Happy 2nd Birthday to Small Dolls in a Big World!

Today is a special day because 2 years ago today, I started my blog.

cropped-For-me

I have been blogging for 2 years. 2 years! It does NOT seem like I’ve been doing it for that long.

First, there are a few people I would like to thank :

My mom – Thanks for always being encouraging and helping me be the best blogger/artist/seamstress/businesswoman I can be. I love you! <3

My brother – Thanks for switching my blog server again (and optimizing it in ways I didn’t even know possible) ! (Did you guys notice how much faster my blog is?) ;)

Jaclynn – I think I am obsessed with your comments. Catlover02 and I always say to each other “Did Jaclynn comment on the Guiding Compass yet?” and when you do, we run to the computer to read it. Literally. It’s like we’re fangirls of you. :P Thank you so much for all of your sweet and funny comments. I have loved getting to know you better and thanks for helping me understand the basics of Star Wars fangirling. LOL. :)

Emma – Thank you so much for being an enthusiastic fan of The Guiding Compass. :) It means a lot to me that you guys enjoy it. Plus, your comments are always hilarious and make me laugh. But if only you would join the Light Side. *disappointed sigh* JK. (Sort of) :)

American Girl Doll Crafter – Thank you so much for always offering to help me out when I don’t have an answer. I remember when you said you were my biggest fan, and it seems like such a long time ago. Thanks for being my friend. :) <3

Clara – Thank you so much for being the first person to like almost every post. I feel honored that you read my posts minutes after I just publish them.

Kittymeow – I think you’ve been following my blog since the beginning. Thanks so much for your loyalty and comments. I love reading each one. ;)

Thank you to all to the other people who follow and comment. I appreciate each one. :) And no comment goes unread. ;)

I bet you all are wondering… Is she going to have a giveaway?

This month, I WILL be having a giveaway, so stay tuned for that. :)

Let’s take a look at some things that happened in the past year:

May 2015 – I celebrated my blog’s 1st birthday, and had my first giveaway. I also started Peppermint Pursuits on May 30th, 2015.

June 2015 – Darica was introduced in the fashion show, and Catlover02 and I posted tons of reviews.

July 2015 – We posted even more reviews, and I shared my InnerstarU artwork.

August 2015 – Maryellen’s debut was greatly anticipated as we both posted sneak peeks from her collection. I also posted one of my most popular photostories ever this month, “Tutu’s Cooking Show.”

September 2015 – My mom set up a Facebook page for Small Dolls in a Big World, Sarah and Bethany had a fashion disaster, and Catlover02 and I worked hard to fill our fairly  new Etsy shop with listings.

October 2015 – I started doing a bit more sewing and Catlover02 and I did lots of photoshoots, inspired by all the doll photography accounts on Instagram.

November 2015 – The World by Girls contest had started so I posted about that, along with lots of other AG news such as sales and free shipping. New Christmas coloring pages were added to the the Etsy shop along with some clay food.

December 2015 – This was my biggest month; I posted every single day, sometimes even 2-4 posts. Everyone looked forward to Lea’s debut on January 1st and the 18″ doll was leaked. I counted down to Christmas with a photography series, The 12 days of Christmas. I also watched Star Wars for the first time in my life this month. :)

January 2016 – I celebrated the release of Lea Clark and a few readers sent in some store photos of the Lea displays. Catlover02 and I released some Lea themed coloring pages and clay food in our shop. Near the end of the month, my family went to the store and I got to pick out Lea to add to my doll family. (I already knew at this point that I wanted her to be a Jedi)

February 2016 – The Melody Ellison doll was revealed and the Wellie Wishers were leaked. I didn’t post much this month, as Catlover02 and I were posting on our new Instagram account. I was busy writing “The Guiding Compass” and being a Star Wars fangirl as I watched the Force Awakens for the first time.

March 2016 – I revealed to all of you that I won the World by Girls contest, and I started the Guiding Compass. Jamie also had her birthday this month.

April 2016 – The Guiding Compass continued, and I did quite a bit of sewing. I also revealed how I was going to do my doll drawing this time.

I can not wait to see what happens next with my blog. God is so awesome and creative, he is always surprising me. :) I bet in one year I will look back and shake my head at what has happened. He is a better planner then I could ever be. ;)
